Methods of Link Building

Link Building is a method of popularising a site and having many sites refer to it or link to it. Search engine robots traverse through the links and reach the site. If a site is very popular or has many site linking to it, search engines rank the site higher and hence they appear on the first few pages of a search.

There are various ways of Link Building. In this tutorial we will discuss each in brief. For more details, you can send an email to info@linkcredible.com. Our experts will get back to you as soon as possible.

1. Link Exchange.
2. Link Submissions (Free and Paid directory submissions).
3. Three-way Linking.
4. Article Syndication.
5. Press Release Marketing.
6. Social Media Marketing.
7. Text Link Marketing.

Let us now see each in brief and how they help in Link Building.

Link Exchange is a way of exchanging link with other sites. A site agrees to link to your site and in return, your site should link to its site. This is also called Two-way Linking or Reciprocal Linking

Link Exchanges are usually free in nature. You would need to contact the administrator of a site and request him/her to link to your site. In return, you need to make sure your site links to the other site.

One needs to make sure that he/she links to only those sites which have relevance to his/her sites. Search engines might ban links or not consider those links which are coming from non-relevant sites and sites that are abusive. Hence, you need to be careful when choosing sites when you request them to link to your site.

Link Exchanges are not considered the best way to build Links. Google and other search engines cancel out links gained by link exchanges since they are not neccessarily true links. We discuss more about Two-way Linking or Reciprocal Linking in here: Reciprocal Linking.

Link Submissions is also called One Way Linking or Non-Reciprocal Linking Here, we submit links to the directory sites that host links for various categories. Directories are Paid and Free.

One way Links don't link back to the sites which host their link. One-Way links are the links established on the other websites.

Other than submitting to such directories, there are plenty of methods to establish such one-way links which include linking back from a different website that you may own, publishing articles on sites, content syndication, listing in forum sites, press release directories etc.. Article submissions is one of the best and emerging ways of Link building. It provides with true links and is an authentic way of building links and making a site popular. Here, based on the topic or domain of the site, articles are written to promote the site by promoting its services or products. Articles are then submitted to many free and paid article sites which have good page rank themselves. These article sites host your article and are picked by many other news and discussion forums etc. The article is then hosted on many more sites and hence gains popularity. We discuss more about Article Syndication here: Article Submissions.

Press Release Marketing like Article Syndication is an authentic way of Link Building. Here, you write Press release documents about your company, its products and services. These Press Releases you then submit to many of the Press release sites that accept free and paid submissions. Many authentic news sites and other discussion forums pick up your press releases and hence link to your site. This way your site becomes popular and hence you gain links.
